Diversified technique is a form of adjusting that is traditionally associated with manual chiropractic adjustments. Which this method, the body is positioned in a specific way to apply a low-amplitude, high-velocity thrust over the restricted joint to restore normal range of motion.
Thompson Drop Technique
The Thompson drop technique utilizes a specialized precision treatment table that has sections that drop a short distance during a thrust to gently facilitate movement of the joint.
The PulStar is a computer-precision multiple impulse analysis and adjusting tool that is clinically proven, and pain free. Using precise, computer controlled gentle impulses, without heavy forces or twisting, the PulStar detects and corrects joint misalignment. With the PulStar you will receive a graphic representation of your pre and post adjustment analysis.
Activator Method
The activator method is a chiropractic technique that uses a spring loaded, hand-held mechanical instrument that provides a quick, low-force impulse to restore motion in spinal and extremity joints without bending or twisting.

Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, noninvasive forms of healthcare available for the treatment of neuromuscular complaints. While chiropractic has an excellent safety record, no treatment is without potential adverse effects. The risks associated with chiropractic are very small, and while many patients feel immediate benefits following an adjustment some may experience mild soreness or discomfort similar to post exercise soreness that typically fades within 24 hours. It is important to be very specific about your symptoms and health history with your chiropractor to ensure that the safest and most effective treatment is provided. Doctors of chiropractic are well trained professionals with an extensive education to prepare them to identify patients who have special risk factors and to ensure that those patients receive the most appropriate care, even if that requires a referral to another specialist.
Yes, many chiropractors, including Dr. Bratt, treat children from infancy. From the time they are learning to hold their heads up to participating in sports, children are physically active and experience many types of falls and physical stressors. Maintaining proper spinal alignment throughout childhood will help encourage optimal growth and development.
Chiropractors undergo extensive training staring with at least three to four years of pre-medical undergraduate college education before moving on to an accredited chiropractic college where they spend about 4 years of professional study working on their Doctor of Chiropractic (DC). While in chiropractic school, DCs are educated in orthopedics, neurology, physiology, human anatomy, clinical diagnosis including laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging, exercise, nutrition and more. Chiropractors also complete supervised clinical training during their doctorate program to master the highly skilled manipulation and adjusting techniques prior to working as a solo practitioner. They also must pass a 4-part national board examination and state licensing before practicing without supervision.
Like many many healthcare professionals, chiropractors may provide acute, chronic, and/or preventative care that require a certain number of visits. Dr. Bratt will work with you to provide a tailored treatment plan to fit your goals and needs. Upon moving through their treatment plans, many patients find that with regular chiropractic care they feel better overall and choose to continue with regular maintenance care as a part of their healthy lifestyle.
The popping or cracking sounds that sometimes accompanies an adjustment are simply gas and fluids moving though the spine. The noise is caused by the change in pressure within the joint, which results in a gas bubble bing released. It is not dangerous and typically does not cause any discomfort or pain for patients.
Chiropractors go through years of education and training to learn how to precisely detect and appropriately correct spinal subluxations. Attempting to adjust yourself can result in damage to your spine or make your symptoms worse. A pop is not an adjustment.
Yes! Chiropractic care is generally safe during pregnancy and many patients find chiropractic adjustments very helpful during pregnancy.
Before every adjustment an assessment is done to detect the specific spinal joints that need attention and ensure that an adjustment is safe to perform. Therefore, we can be certain that only the joints in need are adjusted.
